This has continued throughout the year into BUCS in which Bath is fast becoming the dominate university! Bath Uni students, please come along and join this amazing club!! Its friendly, welcoming, and great fun - due to your success! Contact me or your committee for details -

Adult/Open Sessions - Tuesdays, 7 - 9 pm, at the University of Bath's dojo, all welcome above 14 years is the only restriction. We now have a wide range of players, both in ability and age. Don't be shy, as with the above, its always friendly, fun, informative - this should equal success and improvement!  As this is still in our promotional period, no fee will be charged until further notice. Please contact me with any questions. Love to see you there.

Special training - a development idea I got from my father. Back when he was in the Kodokan in the 50s, the kids used to have 'lessons' and then have to run through the adults who were training to get to the changing rooms. The adults never let them by without playing with the kids. This was seen by my old man as a great teaching opportunity as all the adults were national champions 4th 5th & 6th dans with years of experience and great skills. I have tried to reproduce this opportunity in the Special training events held on Sunday mornings at the STV dojo (see above). See below for when the next one is coming up - they are invitation only events, not open to anyone!! Usually members of school clubs. Get in touch with any questions.

School Handbooks, are now in their third edition. I have altered the layout, in order to facilitate a very flexible progression into judo. Skills can be taken from any point in the learning/development course and used to attain grades. I'd like to think how I teach judo exemplifies this approach. Please purchase them from me at the school session, price £5.

Thank you for your continued support and interest! FG. 1.7.24.

Judo, my teaching of it.

Again, just to be brief and for the benefit of parents, I'll lay out a few main points of the methodology.

It is my intention to be part of the educational experience of your child at school. Being a fully qualified and experienced teacher I do plan to make sessions follow the principals of the National Curriculum as well as give a solid introduction to the sport of judo along with improving the individual with a plethora of skills and experiences. This I hope will produce a feeling of fun, especially as progress is made and rewarded!

[I'm starting to put more of my thoughts, ideas and theories on Thoughts & Ideas page in articles you can download and read]

Although judo is the main vehicle for the session structure, I include many other skills, which will encourage a wide range of physical development in your child. Primarily for judo but also for general development.

My curriculum is now redesigned and set out in a convenient A5 handbook. The content giving a much clearer & more flexible approach to progression, which is rewarded by the presentation of grades consisting of belts & certificates at school.

Any questions please use  the 'contact us' link. I am always trying to be as approachable as possible to any interested party! Thank you very much for your interest! FG. 2.10.23
